Lead Abatement
Lead can be present in paint. D&F Insulation will scrape and remove lead paint according to Ontario Regulation 843/90 as amended by 109/04 and referencing the 'The Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario'. {Although the Ministry of Labour (MoL) has published a guideline for control of lead exposures on construction projects. For pricing purposes all lead paint is based on being disposed of as general hazardous waste. if required to be disposed as by other means then a Leachate test will need to be performed, by a 3rd party, and price will be adjusted accordingly depending on results.

Asbestos Abatement & Removal
Any building built prior to the 1970’s may have had asbestos containing materials used in construction. Asbestos can be found with old furnaces & boilers and their piping. Asbestos can also be found in cermiculite insulation in the attic or walls, floor tiles, ceiling tiles, vinyl floor/wall coverings and sprayed or troweled on popcorn textured coatings. Due to health hazards, most provinces and municipalities require the separate asbestors removal and proper asbestos disposal of all materials when any building is demolished, or when renovating an area where asbestos materials are present. When removing asbestos all waste is packaged and disposed of in accordance with Waste Regulation 347/90, and disposed of at an appropriate municipal landfill, approved by the Ministry of Environment.
